Multiple exercises: one artboard

For an assignment this week, our professor is asking that we completed five separate exercises, and include all exercises in one artboard.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to add each completed exercise into one single artboard.  I've tried clicking and draging one onto the other, but instead, this just takes me away from the main subject on the clicked on exercise.

This must be simple, but for whatever reason, I'm having difficulty figuring this out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Based on one (mis)understanding, you can create 5 Layers, one for each exercise, so that you (and the professor) can hide all but the one currently worked on/looked at.

Do you mean:
All five exercises in one artboard in one document?
Or all five exercises in one document and each exercise in a separate artboard in that document?

Here are the instructions I was given:

Requirements

• Download all the practice files.
• Create 1 artboard for all 5 exercises.
• Complete all steps in the 5 tutorials and use all the tools.
• Summary of concepts/steps you need to demonstrate:

• • Add a line of text 
  • Add paragraphs of text
  •  Format text 
  • Place text on or inside a path 
  • Re-shape text 

• Keep your artboard as an Illustrator (Ai) file format and submit into the assignment page using the "start assignment" button in the upper right of the page.  Do not post your assignment in the discussion forum.

My understanding is 1 artboard for 5 exercises.  I just can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this.

Is this an Illustrator question or an English grammar question?

Do they mean "1 for all 5" or "1 for each of the 5"?

I don't think we can help you on the forum. I mean we can tell you that you can just create one huge artboard and everything will then fit on it. But will that be the correct solution of your task? We don't know that.

Also we don't know if your instructor will be p*** ... indignant when you ask them about their grammar.

I would create 5 separate artboards and one big artboard below it.

You can always delete the 5 artboards or the big one.

Ask your professor what he wants.
