My Illustrator file shows there is data on file preview, but when opening, the data is not there

Hello everyone.

I was working on an illustrator file and did everything necessary to save the files correctly.

I can now see the preview of the files, but the date is missing as soon as I open the file. I am attaching screenshots. I have tried data recovery on my computer, where it saves data recovery files, but the file is not there. It might be because I worked directly on the file while saving on a memory stick and not directly on the PC. 

is there a way I can retrieve the data?

I am afraid the content is lost, you may try if sharing the file with Adobe helps.

Saving a file directly to an external memory stick is never a good idea.
