Noob question about actions

Hello everyone,

I've just started using Illustrator out of necessity for a friend's project. His project consists of plenty of licensed pictures he wants resized to fit different canvases. Currently what I do is I have a template with 9 artboards and I manually resize each picture, fit it into the artboards and export using each artboard at the end so it saves me some time.

I wanted to know if there I can automate the process so that when I import a picture, Illustrator automatically fits the certain picture into each artboard automatically and flawlessly(Using actions I assume?) but I have no idea if and how this can be done.

Thanks in advance for your time

This would require a script and I vaguely remmber a similar discussion from a few days ago. Can't find it with a quick search, but if you spend a few minutes on it it may turn up.

You need to upload it to a file sharing site. You can't upload AI files to the forum.
