object not responding when I click on it

When clicking on an object (text/shape) it showing me a small box next to the mouse icon arrow, and I can't move the object.

Only when I'm not clicking it anymore, and moving my mouse, then the object is moving even so I'm not clicking on it.

I checked all the view options are off.

It's impossible working like this.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks!

Which system is it?

If Mac OS, do you perhaps have the app Magnet installed (or something similar)?

Thanks Monika.

I'm using Mac OS ventura.

But I don't have this app.

I was thinking to download an older version, maybe it's a bug?

Hello @Or36284810qlwv,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

If the problem persists, kindly share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator and a screen recording of the problem (https://adobe.ly/3vyJH6e), so we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
