Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [2067]

I've been trying to open a .dxf file format with illustrator but it doesn't work.  When I drag and drop any .dxf file into illustrator I get an unknown error [2067].  I am able to open these .dxf files in other programs.  

Please advise.

Can you give us more details. What OS, version of AI

I'm on a Mac with an M1 chip.  Currently I'm running Monterey.  My AI is up to date at the 2022 version.

I had read that it was a problem that Adobe was aware of and trying to fix and that in the meantime you may try to go back to a previous version of AI to see if that will help.
