Everything was working perfectly until something unexpected happened to my Illustrator CC 2017.1.0   on   Windows 10,  when working with type with Middle eastern supported features, I have checked creative Cloud App Language preferences  and it is set to The same setting before, I tried to change, Reset preferences, reinstall, restart, with no success.

when I checked Illustrator Type preferences ,new settings appear as shown in  the 2nd screesnshots below,

first screenshot shows illustrator Preferences on my windows 10 where all is perfect, the 2nd screenshot is my pc at work which shows different settings where i have no control over the paragraph direction or digits ( they are no longer exist )

Any thought is highly appreciated,

Mohammad Harb

Are both Illustrator versions Arabic enabled? Or is one of them some "plain" English version?

I'm not quite sure f the setting  in the Cloud app is sufficient or if you have to change the system language as well.

The 2nd screenshot appears to be the English North American version of AI. I would uninstall illustrator, once again check your language is set to English Arabic in the Adobe Cloud, and reinstall illustrator.

Adobe has not done a good job for the user to determine which language version is booted/installed.  No splash screen or option to switch languages, you have to go into the OS to see what cloud did.

This is a mac, but I suspect you will see both languages at the similar location on windows to just the US install.

At home had the problem and was aggravating as I had English Arabic as my language in Cloud but kept getting the US version when booting app. Doing an uninstall and reinstall at home resolved the issue for me, and hope will be the same for you so you can do the happy dance as I did. I did not have to  Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems , but there is the link incase you need for a really good uninstall.

I think Adobe does not want you to be able to run both language versions and this is not a priority for them. I cannot find a pattern as on the first computer I ever installed Arabic version was able to switch by using the adobe cloud  open button, when the correct language set in cloud. That does not work anymore in 2017 so they may have nerfed that, but you are welcome to try.

Hello Mohammad,

I found the solution, just add the Arabic files to your Illustrator directory, I made a video of the solution with the files to download.
