Paste (or possibly copy) keyboard shortcuts not working

New Here ,
Oct 20, 2023 Oct 20, 2023

The option to paste (or maybe copy) is not working. The keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V results in nothing happening. The Edit -> Paste dropdown menu isn't even highlighted (clickable). And my preset actions with Paste gives an error message. I have to try numerous times to copy before Illustrator finally pastes the object.... Is this a bug? I just updated to the newest version.

Looks like the actual context is that you are running an action, right?

If so, you may elaborate a bit about what this action is supposed to do. You can also share the action and provide some instructions.

The action itself is supposed to paste the object, align to the center then scale the object, basically. I find it odd that even when I try to paste normally (ctrl + v) nothing happends...

Strange things happen sometimes, but it's rather difficult to reproduce it without getting the actual file, the action set file and some instructions. And further infos if you think they are relevant in that case.
