Pathfinder glitch when using minus front

New Here ,

Hey there, I've been working on adding a fish eye effect to a client's pre-existing logo. They provided me only with PNG files, so I image-traced in order to work with them. Every time I try to use the pathfinder minus front tool to get a cut out effect with the logo it either a) doesn't respond at all or b) reverts back to the original logo without the effect. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm referring to.

I've toggled between CPU and GPU view, worked on separate and the same layers to trouble shoot and none of these have made any difference. Any ideas? Screen Shot 2024-03-01 at 8.49.06 AM.png

You probably need to expand the envelope before using it with Pathfinder (Object > Envelope Distort > Expand)

Running into the problem here where it's not cutting out the same shape and it can't be expanded any further Screen Shot 2024-03-01 at 2.33.14 PM.pngScreen Shot 2024-03-01 at 2.32.53 PM.pngScreen Shot 2024-03-01 at 2.32.46 PM.png

Did you apple the envelope distort as an effect? In that case: Object > Expand appearance
