Hi, hope you can help me solve this problem:  Paths are appearing behind a reference photo I'm tracing in Illustrator, how do I get paths to show up in front of the photo as I trace?  Thanks!

I would put the photo on one layer, lock it and then create a new layer for the paths you are creating. That should take care of the problem you are experiencing. You could also bring the source photo in as a template layer, which would automatically bring the layer in as a separate locked layer which would be slightly transparent (these settings can be changed) and would not print.

Also, check if you've perhaps enabled the Draw Behind mode and if so switch to the Draw Normal mode.
