pentool doesn't show millimeters anymore

I was working on illustrator the entire day and everything was fine but I just opened it again and the pentool (P) doesn't show the millimeters anymore and I desperately need that to even work with the program. Before there was always a little rectangle next to the pentool when I used it and it showed (for example) A:30mm. Has anyone had the same issue or know how to fix it?
