Placed Objects Won't Move!

Help!  I have placed objects in Illustrator but I'm unable to move them with my mouse or with the touchpad.  After I finally am able to select it, I can move it with the arrow keys.  I've restarted my mac and have checked to make sure everything is up-to-date.

I have tried both my IMac and my MacBookPro.  I have started and restarted.  I have re-downloaded the artwork file.

The art is moveable until I move it on an artboard.  Then it stops.  I have used this art for over a year!

Illustrator v26.31 and Monterey 12.4

Can you please give us an idea what's in your file? What kind of objects are they?

Does it work in a newly created file? Does it work in other files?

This is an AIC file?
