Please can you fix this?

Hi all,

Disclaimer. I may have misunderstood this but… Please can you 'fix' type searching behaviour.

Steps:

• I select the type tool
• I type some text
• I click the properties panel character drop down

Issue:

• If I want to change the font, by the down arrow key, Illustrator, (et al), don't as you would expect continue my font search from where I have left off— but instead my last selected font is placed at the top and I have to scroll through all of previously searched fonts again, and this repeats with every single search and selection.

Expected behaviour:

• That when searching for fonts, and having selected one, any further searches, (particularly on the same object), should always continue from where you left of in the previous search— not back at the start.

Font management within the Adobe suites is already bad, IMO, but this is really problematic for productivity.

This issue?

Unfortunately the only solution seems to be setting recent fonts to zero under Preferences > Type. This seems to make the font list work as you expect.

Thank you Doug for getting back. Should I assume then they have no intention of fixing it?

I would vote and post on the uservoice link with your experience. There are people checking those posts who push for things to be fixed.
