Please, oh, please update Free Distort

Ah the free distort tool...

Maybe the only Ai tool to feel like it's trapped in the 90s. Please, oh, please can we get an update to this function! I still have a lot of use cases for this tool and would love to see this done outside of a dialog box so you can see your edits in context and live. Going to a fiddly little dialog box where you can't see surrounding elements is not the one!  

Great tool but need's bringing into the modern day!

I see what you mean—the Free Distort tool still relies on an older dialog-based workflow, which can feel a bit outdated, especially compared to more modern, real-time transformation tools. Having a live, on-canvas version of it would definitely make adjustments more intuitive and contextual.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend sharing this as a feature request on Illustrator UserVoice (https://adobe.ly/4hACvJv). That’s where the product team tracks and considers user feedback for future updates.
