Hi @Slokky,
Thank you for sharing your potential solution for resolving the DWG 2067 error. Your suggestion to remove external references like PDFs or images and then resave the file is quite valuable.
Regarding your request for an "ignore references" checkbox when importing DWGs, I can certainly understand how this could be a useful feature to have in Illustrator. I'll make sure to convey your feedback to the Illustrator team for their consideration. They are continuously working on improving the software, and user input like yours is invaluable.
In the meantime, if you could provide a screen recording or a sample file with reproducible steps, it would be tremendously helpful. It could assist the team in better understanding the issue and potentially implementing a more user-friendly solution in the future.
Your participation in sharing your insights is greatly appreciated, and it can contribute to making Illustrator even better. If you have any more ideas, feedback, or questions, please feel free to share.
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

It's great that you've found a solution for the DWG/ DXF 2067 error by removing external references like PDFs or images using the third-party app. However, after consulting with the product team, I must clarify that error 2067 generally occurs when Illustrator is unable to open the file for various reasons. Not being able to handle references is one of the potential causes, but the error itself is a generic indication that something went wrong during the file opening process.
While the product team doesn't have a specific "ignore references" checkbox for DWG/ DXF file import, they are continuously working to improve file handling and error management in Illustrator. Your feedback is valuable, and they consider user suggestions for future updates. However, adding a checkbox would not help here. If you have any more observations and suggestions, please feel free to share them with us, and I will forward them to the product team.
Best,
Anshul Saini
