Preview Issue

Preview mode produces this dialog box as well. What is the reason for that?

Maybe reboot the system to free RAM.

Also not launch enything but Illustrator?

I hope Monika's suggestions helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator and a public link to a sample file after uploading it to Dropbox/Google Drive/etc. so we can investigate this further?
