And when trying to save the document it says 'an error has occurred'.

Can we see a screenshot of yoru artbaords window. Bouble click to rename them simply them simply

Artboard 1

Artboard 2 Msot any filename is good, except, do not use colons or backslash in the name of artbaords

If the issue perssists, copy all , and paste int a new doucment with 2 artbaords, you may have corruption in the headers.

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. I would like to know if the steps suggested above by @Mike_Gondek & @Met1 worked for you? If not, I would suggest you try the following steps and let us know how it goes:

  1.  Select an individual element or group of elements from the Layer Panel from both the Artboards
  2.  Go to Object Menu > Expand or Expand Appearance
  3.  Ctrl+s/ Cmd+s

Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
