"Object on Path" does not work (greyed out)

Why is the object on Path greyed out?

Since update nothing works in Illustrator, very frustrating.

Anyway: is any other menu greyed out? Effects (of course with an object selected)?

In addition to what our expert has asked, would you mind checking the same on a new file or a new object in this file? We would want to ensure whether this issue is occurring with all files or just this specific file and with this specific object.

Could you please confirm if you have Illustrator. i.e, 30.1 installed on your machine?
