Rapid battery drain after last update.

Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing rapid battery drain after the last A.I update? I'ts really odd and has never happened before. It's lasting 3-4hrs. Help...

What are your computer specs? OS, HD, Processor, Graphics cards, etc?

It could be your graphics card causing the drainage.

Newer software relies on GPU acceleration more than older and your Intel Graphics card is lacking.

The current recommended specs are 2000 ops/sec.

The Intel 615 clocks in at 307.

Try turning off GPU acceleration in your performance preferences and see if that makes a difference.

It could also be the age of the battery.

Is the last update significantly different from the previous?

Each new update relies more on GPU the latest also rebuilt the 3D rendering engines so I would say yes.

Is the battery getting hot, and the fan going on continuously?

Does the battery keep normal charge when Illustrator is not running?
