When I got Adobe, I downloaded two versions of Illustrator - 26.00 and 26.01. I now have the newest version 26.01. When I start up Illustrator I can only see the work saved in that version 26.01 in "recent files". I can´t see the files saved in verion 26.01.

I have tried to copy my work and save it in the new version but it still doesn´t show up in "recent files". I have tried to delete Illustrator but it still doesn´t work.

First off, is that even possible, and why would you do that?

If you do indeed have two versions of Illy running, just uninstall one of them.

Yes that is possible. I guess I was stupid in the moment when I downloaded Illustrator.

I have allready deleted the old version of Illustrator so I only have one version now.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. If files are not visible in Recent even after resaving the files in the newer version of Illustrator. Then you may try the following steps and let us know how it goes:

  • Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old from the following location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
  • If that doesn't help, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following locations:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
  • If that doesn't help either, uninstall the application using the CC Cleaner tool and reinstall from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
