ReEditing Shapes in Illustrator

If, making a star, I hold down the shift and option key while making a star, then release to commit the shape, is there a way to reedit that shape using the same tools I used originally? Specifically, can I click on the star, then edit the R1 and R2 amounts, and possibly add additional points using the up and down keys? Or, do I have to delete the current star and start over?

Thanks in advance, MJ
