Hi,
I'm trying to find the best way to make a 3d rounded edges cube. I tried several attempts and I just don't know how to make it look good enough.
Is there any way to use the stylize rounded edges effect on an entire group and not as a path?
Please help me find an alternative way to achieve it, I tried several guides and didn't get the results I was hoping to get.
Thanks!

michelew83603738, thanks for your text, if you see Rozii wants rounded caps like this
but if you increase the extrude depth, the result is not that good
That's not a problem. At all.
Make a bevel for it:
Put that bevel into the bevels file in Application folder > Adobe Illustrator > Support Files > Ressources > [Locale]
Read the instructions in that file and act like described in there
Quit and restart
Apply Extrude effect and enter the dimensions of your custom bevel like so
Et voil

So your gowl is that the rounded corners look correct in perspective?

Mostly the inner squares inside the cube. I can't figure out how to make it right.

I would create the cube with the 3D effect.
Expand the appearance and use Pathfinder Unite to creat a single object.
Use the round corners on that object.
Use the object as a clipping mask or create the gradient in your object.

This is exactly what I did with the green cube. I'm just not sure how to make the inner paths look as good too after using the pathfinder unite.

Hi there
Maybe you can use Adobe Dimension
What do you want to do with that cube?

What I'm trying to do is recreate this vector:
Just want a different angle of cube (rotate it to the right) and make the cube shapes round.

Hi there
Do you want something like this?

More or less. I would want the width to be equal here:
Could you please guide me through?
Also, is there a way to control the shadowing and coloring with clipping masks instead of this tool?

Maybe you can use Photoshop
Design the shape in Illustrator with rounded corners
Copy and Paste in Photoshop as a Path
Then go to the menu 3D and select / new extrusion from the selected path
go to the properties panel and select the cap options
On the 3D panel, you can select the layer an change the colors and if you select the light you can change the light
There are many options

Eugenio.NYC, what system are you running to access Adobe Dimension? That was a great program but I didn't think it ran on "modern" systems.

I think he meant Adobe Dimension CC (not Adobe Dimensions, which I agree was great!)
Buy Adobe Dimension CC | Photo-real 3D images for product and package design

Oh, I didn't even KNOW there was a Dimensions CC!! I'll check it out. Thanks.

Oh, I see. Can I import vectors from AI into Dim CC? It looks like it's optimized for licensing objects from Adobe. I should withhold judgement until I've fully tested the program.

You can do all of this in Illustrator without taking it into Photoshop I think:
Create an "S" shape with rounded edges that are an even:
Apply a 3d effect of extrude:
You can play with the extrude Depth to decide how deep or thick you want it to be and use the axis inputs or rotate the blue cube to change the orientation of your object:
If you want to change the lighting, click on the More Options and there are several setting you can play with:
You can also change the fill/stroke attributes if you don't want them to be the same color:
Hope that helps

I still beleive that this should just be taken as a template to make a proper illustrator using gradients, blends, etc.
This 3D object will result in a gazillion of vector paths in the output file.

Have you tried to use Cineware for this? It’s perfect for this kind of thing;

You can't do this in Cineware alone. You would have to create the model in Cinema4D first.

Yes, that is true, but this is very easy to do. The Free version of Cinema 4D Lite is included in your Adobe CC subscription. So, save your basic shape (The S profile) as a version 8 AI file. Open this in C4D Lite. Extrude it, adding a rounded fillet to the angles. Save it.
Back in AI, in Cineware, open the file you ha e just created.
