Save a Copy without adding Copy to file name - Illustrator

Whenever I use Save a Copy in Illustrator, I am using it to save an exact version of a file, but in a different format.

Is there a way to turn off adding "copy" to the existing file name when I use Save a Copy?  As of right now, I have to delete it manually and then save (or save and change file name after).

I believe that manual removal is all there is. I would be happy to be proven wrong. Otherwise, perhaps posting a feature request to https://illustrator.uservoice.com/ might be in order.
