Hi, I'm having trouble that just randomly started yesterday (10/24). Every time I try to save an .aic file (from creative cloud) to my local drive as an AI file, Illustrator crashes. I can save to the Creative Cloud, and I can export As png, but I can't save to .ai. This happens with any of my current cloud files, but doesn't seem to happen with any similar local files in either pdf or ai format.
It first started randomly on 10/24/25 while using an previous version of illustrator ( I think 29.7). I updated the software to Illustrator 29.8.2 and had the same results while using Mac os15.6. Next I updated to Mac os 15.7.1. Same results. So then I updated to Mac OS Tahoe... and still can't make it work. I've tried uninstalling Illustrator, repairing the Creative Cloud app software, restarting computer, re-setting preferences... I'm at a loss for what to try next.

Hello @Pondaseta,
Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind checking if this happens when exporting to a specific folder location, such as the Desktop, a different folder location on your internal/external drive, or a folder synced to iCloud Drive/Dropbox/etc. so we can better assist you?
Also, try re-adding Full Disk Access permissions for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/47n9RHN) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thansk for the reply! I just re-added full Disk Access permisions for Illustrator. I have attempted saving to multiple different folders on my harddrive - Desktop, icloud folders, and local Documents folder. I'm getting the same result - each of the three affected files from 10/24 are still causing Illustrator to crash. I have been able to work on new files and most of my older files. It seems to just be affecting the three I was working on Friday.

Hello @Pondaseta,
Thanks for confirming the details. Could you try copying the layers/objects from the affected files to a new one to see if it helps?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
