Saving File as Vector

I'm trying to make a banner to send to a printer. They have requestd a vector AI file.

I made the document in AI - with the artboard at the dimensions I needed the banner - 36"x4.5". The only thing on the banner is text - which I added some 3D effects to.

Printer keeps telling me I am sending him a JPG. Printer cannot accept an SVG file. What am I (or the printer) missing for this file to be a vector?

So I tried to attach my file to this help post and I am getting this error:

You probably used the 3D and materials effect. They are rendered as pixels. Use the Classic 3D effects.

That is what I did. I will try with the Classic 3D effects. Thank you.
