Hi all, trying to figure out a workflow issue. Script is pulling in PDFs that were previously exported from AI. Some of the clipping groups in that PDF have names, like "MainClip". However, with my workflow, I need to place the PDF as a placed item, then embed the file. When I do that, none of the named layer items carry over. I'm placing a series of these PDFs on a large artboard, and need to be able to programmatically release the clipping mask on only certain masks. There's no rhyme or reason to the mask structure; it varies by product.
Anyone have any general thoughts, or is the only solution really to open up the original PDF in AI and copy it over to the new file, rather than place?
