There was temporarily a feature where you could hover over live (editable text) and a node would appear that you could select, but the feature seems to have vanished. I had relied on this feature since I design lots of ADA sign systems. I was able to select a node on the bottom or top corner of some live text and snap it to a corner and then precicely move it using a keyboard shortcut. It was great to be able to space Braille an EXACT distance from text move text a precise distance from the edge of a sign face.

Was this feature removed or am I missing a setting?

You need to turn on and configure Smart guides.

Then turn on Snp to glyphs in the View menu

And turn on all the snapping options at the bottom of the Character panel (You might need to show them first)

Also turn off Snap to grid, because it collides with Smart guides.
