So I am in Adobe illustrator working with an object and after I shrink it down I go to move it by using the selection tool it deselects that object and instead selects what is directly behind. I can force a selection by going over to my layers and selecting that way and moving it with my arrows keys, but if I try to move it once it's selected from the layers it selects what's behind it again; and it only does it with this object. If I shrink anything else, it's fine meaning it's also not a bounding box issue; and when I undo shrinking the-problem-object to make it big again it's fine, but for some reason when it shrinks it won't select it. Suggestions?
