Selection Tool Corners Glitching

I have been experiencing this issue for months, and after updating Illustrator to each new verison it has still remained a problem. I have generally always used the selection tool to scale/rotate items, instead of the hassle of using the scale/rotate tools. The issue at hand is when I hover my cursor over the anchor points on the corners/middle of the edge, either nothing pops up OR the scale/rotate icons glitch out and won't remain stable, rendering me unable to use them unless I catch them at the exact point they appear which is nearly impossible. I have attached a video of what I have been struggling with. Show Bounding Box is on, I've messed with Preferences, I've updated/restarted multiple times...nothing works and this is getting infuriating. Currently using a 2015 Mac running macOS Monterey and Illustrator 2024.

This is a tough one. I know I've seen this happen to me too, but it only happens when my objects are very small, and zooming in usually alleviates it. But I see in your video that you are zooming in, so I know that's not the solution. What is your screen resolution? Try setting it back to the default for your screen size and see if that makes a difference?

I have the screen resolution set as default for display. I assume you are talking about Mac settings. If you are talking about Adobe settings I'm not sure how to do that.

Yes, I was talking about the Mac itself. I'm sorry that I'm not sure what else to try, but I'll be following along to see if anyone else has any suggestions.

Do you have the Magnet app installed? If so, disable it for Illustrator.

Other than that Sonoma can cause all kinds of issues on its own.

No I do not have the Magnet app installed. And I am running Monterey, which is the latest OS my system will run since it is almost 10 years old. This problem just started recently though, so it could be a Monterey problem.

You have a red cursor - where does that come from?

Customizing my Mac cursor, lol. I even tried reverting it back to default colors to see if that was causing the glitch and it was not. Haha.

Is that an extra app? It's affecting the cursor, so it can affect what the cursor is doing.

No—you can customize your cursor from your Mac system preferences.

I'm running Illustrator on the same system, but a newer Mac and it doesn't do this.

What happens when you reboot and then open only Illustrator. Nothing else, not even your browser.
