Set a keyboard shortcut for a custom plugin tool

I'm developing a custom Adobe Illustrator plugin with a custom Tool.

I want to set a default keyboard shortcut for this tool that will be added to the Illustrator Defaults preset (see the picture).

Is there a way to do this (either programmatically or via a config file)?

If so, how do I choose an appropriate default keyboard shortcut?

Thanks

Illustrator Default is for the default settings. It is logic to be for the default settings.
And even if you could do that, you need users to do the same every time they install it?

That's the issue that I'm having. I don't want the users to set it every time they install the plugin.

I want to add a default keyboard shortcut for my plugin to Illustrator Defaults.
