Hi,
I'm having trouble to remove a shape with my shape builder as it is not detecting some of them.
I would like to remove the outlining of my text to make it thinner as I saw online, but for some reasons, my shape builder doesn't detect the outline. I select my text and then press alt with the shape builder. I have tried to remove masks but there is none.
An idea of how to resolve this?
Thank you!

(assuming this is an ai question..)
in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

How is this text constructed? Can you show a full screenshot of your workspace (not a phone camera image) with the text/letter selected and appearance panel visible?

Are you sure the outline effect on the letters isn't a live stroke effect? The thickness of such effects can be adjusted in the Stroke palette.

Did you Outline the Stroke?

Yes it's for Illustrator, sorry.
The text was just made from "Type" with a font from illustrator, then I did "object > Path > Outline stroke and changed the color of the stroke. I saw this method on a video and the shape builder was able to substrat the outline, but not mine. I included a screenshot with the text selected.
The stroke was still too thick after aligning in to inside.
Thank you for your help,
Lucile

Does setting the stroke to 'none' do what you need?

You probably did not outline the text as well.
And on top of that this video gave you bad advice. Use Effect > Path > Offset path (with a negative value) directly on your text if you absolutely must do that kind of stuff.
