I updated again today and ran in to a persistent issue where anything past version 26.5, my smart guides don't show up and I don't snap to anything. Last I contacted support I was told to stay on 26 and notnuse 27, but now with 28 out I'd really like to update and use new features and use the same versions as all my peers.
I have checked CTRL+U. I've changed the point settings in prefs to see if that helps. I've done the appdata > renaname to old, and resintall actions. Nothing.
Why am I paying for a subscription if I have to keep using a 2 version old install?
I figured it out.
Adobe help had me make a new computer profile and try it there and it worked... so something on my user profile was messing it up.
"Enhance pointer precision" was off. Turned it back on and now Smart Guides work.
I'd love for that to NOT be the case....

What OS version are you using?
Reset your prefs.

Windows 11.
I've reset prefs. Uninstalled and reinstalled both AI and the entire suite.
I made a new discovery: if I hit CTRL or ALT a bunch then they show up for a second.

Is snap to grid turned on?
Are you using any third party plugins?

I've tried every combo of Snapping to no avail.
I did plugins but have uninstalled them since and also have a computer that never had them that is presenting the same issues.
It's happening on 4 separate machines, by the way.

you probably need to have Customer Care investigate this.

This started a few months ago and the resolution they came up with was "use v26.5."
They also looked at it yesterday for hours and finally gave up saying they'd call me back.
I was hoping that maybe there was something in the community especially since I'm a pretty unique case with 4 unique computers.

What do you mean by "computer profile". Are you trying to say user login account? Please elaborate. Thanks!
