Solid lines appear dashed when exported to PNG

New Here ,

I created a graphic with lines and arrow heads.  When I proceed to export it as a PNG it's showing my lines as broken lines....they appear to be "dashed" but they are not... i checked and checked again, over and over!   I've gone as far as copying individual elements to a brand new workspace and then redrew the lines only to have it do the same thing!  After several attempts doing the same process and suddenly,  one worked.  It seems like a glitch but I don't know if I'm just doing something dumb?  Hopefully someone can help me out! Screenshot 2024-10-16 165958.png

Can you share an Illustrator example file with this problem?

Just rename (or save as) the extension to .pdf to attach it to a post.

Thanks, but you applied a pattern to the stroke instead of a solid red color.

No pattern was applied.  It's a simple stroke that is red.Screenshot 2024-10-17 114507.png

Just double click the swatch in the swatches panel and the Pattern options will open instead of the color swatch options.

If it was a pattern, it should show up on my screen then too, no?  It's only showing up when I save it to a png.  Even the PDF shows solid lines.

Thank-you, I tried a different fill and it worked.  Still makes no sense to me as I've been using the same pallet for the last 250 files and it just started doing this.  Thank-you for your time.

You must have dragged a red stroked line in the past to the Swatches panel. Dragging an object makes it a pattern. Clicking the + sign adds a color swatch.

Your patten has a width of 25,3404 px, which will be rounded to whole pixels when exported as image pixels. Sometimes you will be lucky and it will not be visible. PDF does not need rounding since it keeps it as scalable vectors.
