Strange Dialog box when opening EPS files - "Select a File Format to open file"

This is a weird thing that began recently...

Every time I open an EPS I get this dialog box. It happens with any EPS, whether it contains linked graphics, live text or just plain outlined vector art.

I use Extensis Connect, but I've made no changes to its prefs or Illustrator's prefs, and really don't understand why Extensis would be interfering with opening an EPS in Illustrator. It just started happening out of the blue a couple weeks ago. Updated to 27.5 today (5/3/23) and still happening. Anyone else ever see this?

Yes, the Extensis auto-activation plugin. I just disabled it and the message goes away. Ugh, it must've gotten corrupted somehow. Thank you.

That is linked to Extensis. You are running some font plugin?
