strange dropshadow issue

I'm having a strange problem with drop shadows. Putting a drop shadow on an object works fine, but when I move that object over another one the drop shadow goes black. However, when I save the document and open it in my File explorer everything's okay. Anyone have any ideas?

What happens if you toggle between GPU views? Ctrl E or the rocket in the toolbar.

wow, that did it. Thanks! Just wondering why it's happening now. It never used to be a problem.
