Strange effect on PNG/PSD cut out images in illustrator

I import png or psd files with transperency and edges of cut out image and strangely deformed as if there was some mask on it. The first picture is from illustrator and the second from Photoshop. What can be wrong&

Everything's fine I just applied inner shadow effect on the photo in Illustator and forgot about it. However, there is a question why this effect is so uneven?
