Text on circular path disappears or scatters

New Here ,
Oct 05, 2023 Oct 05, 2023

I'm working on a project where I place the names of the companies above the actual logo. I use the type on path tool for this and put it on a circular path around the logo. After closing Ai and reopening it the next day, all the text was scattered around the document (Screenshot: the red arrows are pointing to the scattered letters). My second try resulted in the text just disappearing...... very frustrating. Does anyone know where the problem lies? Thanks in advance

Hello @Marijke32729806a7s2,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? If the problem persists, kindly share some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, system config (CPU/GPU/Memory), a sample file (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967...), and a screen recording of the problem (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/screen-record-an-issue-on-windows-amp-macos-f...), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hey this is happening to me too - the type would scatter but then fall back in line after I move/edit the text.

I have updated the app and closed it, but it's not changed?

Please help!

Did you reset the preferences when updating?

Hey, not sure what you mean.

I have updated the version of my illustrator and now it affects nearly any of my projects with text on a curved path.

Are there any more tips, please?

Has there been a fix to this issue? All my type on paths or circles disappear when I try to outline them and when I try to save the file. They're there, I just have to resize the paths for them to show, but that means redoing all the placement and sizing every time?!?

Hi!

I have the same issue in v28.2. Is anyone still experiencing this and possibly have a solution to fix it? Thanks!
