This just started a few days ago, but in AI when trying to resize text by either dragging the corners or manually typing in the text size, it will not resize. There is a "new" blue line directly inder the text with an anchor point on the left end of the blue line. The bounding box is visible and looks as it normally does but this new blue line seems to be the issue. I dont know how or why its there or what its for, but its causing me lots of problems.
Ive attached some photos below, hopefully they are clear enough to see what I'm referring to!
thanks in advance!

Your screenshots are blurry and why are they an RTF?
Are you sure that it's a point text? Or is it an area text?
How large is the text already? There is a max size.

I'm afraid your screenshots are actually not clear enough.
Can you perhaps just share a sample Illustrator file that contains the type objects in question?

What are the details of your document setup (units of measure, resolution, etc)? Are any effects applied to the text object? I can't really tell since the libraries panel in the screen shot is visible rather than the Layers panel or Appearance panel.
In a normal print document I can usually get live text objects up to around 1280 points. If I want them any bigger I have to convert them to outlines. Your document is showing Myriad Pro at nearly 81 points (and stretched horizontally a bit). The type should be able to scale bigger.
