Here is how to re-create this bug:

1. Create a square shape

2. rotate it 45 deg any direction

3. Right click select transform > Reset Bounding Box.

4. nothing happens ???????????

Sometimes this feature greyed out or sometimes it's selectable but doesn't work.

I also check this features works with every custom shape except the ones that has only 4 corner points.

These are shapes and they remember their rotation properties.

Select Object > Shape > Expand Shape to be able to reset the bounding box.

It worked but why they are not behaving like other shapes? I have a shortcut key for this, and now will make new key for these shapes

'Live' shapes have different properties than regular objects:

https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/illustrator/using/live-shapes.html

Object > Expand Appearance works on appearance attributes (like added strokes and effects). 'Live' shapes are not appearance attributes but a 'class' of object.

So what's the difference between Object > expand appearance, expand  vs  Object > shape > expand shape?

If both are for same puporse then why different category?

Expand Appearance makes the effects from the Appearance panel permanent.

Expand Shape makes the Shapes (Rectangle,Polygon, Line and Ovals) into regular path objects.
