Hola,

Hello @Alejandro22599874nc2l,
While Illustrator supports working from removable/network drives or cloud-synced folders like Google Drive/iCloud/etc., not all configurations are tested, and they may sometimes cause problems (https://adobe.ly/4aViNWb). To avoid this, we recommend saving to your local directory first and then copying the files manually to your backup folder. Alternatively, you may also use Cloud Documents (https://adobe.ly/3ExEtvG).
Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Hi Anubhav and thank you for ypur quick answer, I really apreciate it.
Now I have another problem related. As you suggested I saved it on my local HD and the recovery doesn't works anymore, even local or remote. Should I reinstall Illustrator? It doesn't even recognize the latest recent files.
It's pretty weird.
Thank you again in advance,
Àlex

Hello @Alejandro22599874nc2l,
Would you mind checking if the folder location you're saving your files to is not synced using a file-syncing service like Google Drive/Dropbox/etc. to see if it helps? If the problem persists, could you check if Illustrator behaves this way with all files and share a small screen recording showing the Auto Recovery settings in Illustrator along with your workflow and the problem, so I can check it with the team?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi again! Nope the recovery folder is on my mac HD. And by the way it doesn't work anymore. Let me do it again and I 'll capture the screen.
Thank you for your effort and patience, by the way

So I just checked as you suggest and I took some screenshots.
The first one is the message, it says that the files are recovered (with the original name without the "recovered" on the name). Obviously the files wheren't there, I made two more captures of where the folder is and the (empty) content of the folders where the files are presumably located. Not even the files on the same HD appear.
Should I just reinstall the software?
Thank you again.

Hello @Alejandro22599874nc2l,
Sorry for the delayed response. Would you mind confirming if Data Recovery is still not working properly in Illustrator? If yes, kindly try running Illustrator under a different admin account (macOS) and checking if it helps?
If the problem persists, kindly confirm the version of the OS/Illustrator and if Illustrator behaves this way with all files, so I can check it with the team.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
