Trouble moving objects in illustrator

I am on a Mac using Big Sur 11.5.2 and use the latest version of Illustrator 26.1.

When I click and drag an object I randomly get a plus sign inside a green circle along side the cursor. When I release the mouse the object boomerangs back the the original position. BIZZARE! When I try again it typically behaves normally, but not always. This is very annoying at times. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?

This was a magic Mouse issue and was supposed to be fixed in 26.03. Di this come back?

I assume you have the magic mouse. Do you have another USB mouse you can attach, or try playing with the magic mouse settings in the preference to disable features of this mouse.
