Trouble with Units in Illustrator 2023

I am working on a deadline trying to finish a book and I am having a strange problem in Illustrator. What I want to do is open an .ai document and reduce it to the 5x7" margins my publisher insists on. I have done this countless times on other files and it has worked, but with this one I can't get it to measure my image in inches; it insists on points. As I have shown in the attached screenshot, I have set the preferences to use inches as the prefered unit. Can anyone help me?

Maybe if you show Rulers, you can right click on them and change units to inches.
