Hi

On the first picture after decomposing a 3D object the teacher could work on each side of the object by selecting it with the white arrow and change it 

But me i can't my layer is a wole and even after decompose it i cannot work on each side

No i used extrusion directly. I forgot to precise the teacher's version is 2019 and i use the last one
