Unable to launch Illustrator

Whenever I open my Illustrator, I get the crash message "Adobe Illustrator quit unexpectedly." - even though I closed it myself, it did not crash.

  • Exact version of Illustrator and the OS
  • Since when have you been facing this problem?
  • Are you prompted for a Crash Report? If yes, could you share it by following this article.
    While submitting the crashreport please use the same email address, with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

Try actually deleting the prefs file instead of having AI do it. Quit Illy first, delete file, restart Illy.
