Hello,

Ai 2022 launches fine, but when I either try to create a new doc or open an exisiting one, it locks up 'Adobe Illustrator (not responding)' and I have to force quite

Mac OS 10.15.7

What I have tried:

• Restarting CPU

• Uninstalling Ai and reinstalling it

• Feeing up some memory(I have 168GB free)

•  Trashing the plist file in preferences

•  I saw on some similar posts this had worked: edit/preferences/general and check the box of (legacy"create new" format) in Ai.

• Run Utility First Aid

None have worked. Photoshop opens fine.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

OOBE RESET MAC

  • Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app  (100% you must do this)
  • /Users/<user folder>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
  • The \Users\<user folder>\Library\ is hidden by default for macOS 10.7 and above. See Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later for instructions to access it.
  • Delete all the files within the OOBE folder, but do not delete the folder itself.
  • Restart the computer and launch the Creative Cloud desktop app again.

Thanks Monika....

I have just got this sorted now, it was a deep down problem... took 3hours for a good Adobe tech online support to resolve. Ultimaty a bad font issue, but it caused big ramifications. Wasn't as easy as just getting rid of the font.

For anyone interested, I couldn't tell you what the tech support did... they tried lots and the solution was complicated.
