Unable to Overwrite PDF in Illustrator

Community Beginner ,
Jan 17, 2020 Jan 17, 2020

When I save an illustrator file as a pdf it works fine. If I made a revision to the Illustrator file and make a new pdf, writing over the original file, it doesn't update the pdf, it looks exactly like the original. I have to change the name of the new pdf to get it to update the changes in the Illustrator file. What is going wrong?

Hi there,

Sorry about this issue. If you have macOS and Illustrator 24.0.2 then it's a known issue and a bug has already been logged and our Product team is looking into it. Till the time it is fixed, you may continue using 24.0.1 or simply use Save function instead of Save As. I would also request if you can upvote this issue here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/39418213-overwriting-pd...
This is the best way of communicating with the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Regards,

Rishabh
