unable to transform to artboard

Hi since two days I'm not able to create artboard with my original pattern, it is very frustrating no matter what I,ve tried.  error message:    to create artboard, select non rotated rectangles that are not clipping mask.

I did an update with my mac maybe that is the problems?

Just do what it says:

Select a rectangle that is not rotated and not a clipping mask.

So: what did you select? Can you show a screenshot that includes the layer panel?
