Unknown error when saving a file on 26.0.1

Hi, I am having some issues saving my files on Illustrator. 

When i try to save a file, the file does not save and comes up with unknown error. I have looked to see if the file is corrupt, but even if I open a blank page and draw a simple box I am still having these issues saving.

No I do not unfortunately

Where are you trying to save? Which file format?

When did you last reboot the computer?

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I would request you to share a few more details along with the ones asked by @Monika Gause:

• Operating System
• Is this happening while saving a new or old file?

Also, please try the following steps and let us know how it goes:

1.  Select an individual element or group of elements from the Layer Panel
2.  Go to Object Menu > Expand or Expand Appearance
3.  Ctrl+s/ Cmd+s
