Ever since I updated to the new version of Illustrator (v 29.1), when I move my guides, it makes all the vectors outline with a heavy contrast. How can I fix this?

Looks like it is caused by GPU Preview, if you switch between GPU/CPU using Cmd or Ctrl E it stops doing that.

I can confirm what Ton already said.

One can call it a bug.

In the meantime (and if you want to keep GPU preview) there seems to be an odd workaround to circumvent the bug.

- In your current document create a new empty main layer.
- Apply Outline mode to this layer by Cmd / Ctrl clicking on its eye icon in the Layers palette.

Now moving guides in GPU preview should work without impairing other objects. Outline beats Outlines, in a way.

Can someone confirm?

But that disables Real-time Drawing and Editing.

Partly true, Ton. Moving objects then does not respect real-time mode, but all other real-time things like scaling, rotating or drawing new objects still work.

As mentioned, an odd workaround that may be useful or not.
