Warp Type on path doesnt work anymore in latest version of illustrator

Hello Adobe Comunity, a little complaint so i hope adobe team picks up this comment,

I have always used the Warp tool to warp a  type on path. So there is text on a path, and than i modify the path by playing around with the warp tool untill i'm satisfied (select all the point of the path and warp it with the brush). But that stopped working in the latest version!
I'm  sure its a bug so hopefully we can use this option in the future again

Are you sure that you did that?

I tried it and in version 2023 it doesn't work either.

Neither does it work in version 2020

Are you sure you did that?

Maybe you just used the pencil tool to correct your path?

That could be a workaround if that stil works, the warp tool ctrl r I believe, Yu have to select all the ankerpoints first to use that.

Hello @jassy-ams,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing a screen recording of your exact workflow, so I can try and replicate this on older versions of Illustrator to see if it works?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Did you maybe use the Warp Effect?

no i would "brush"the text in a shape to my preference with the warp brush.  but it's kinda tricy to use, you have to mannually with the direct selection tool select all the points and than youre ready to go

whats left of that nice option is: type on text, select a point of the path its on and manually move that point around. that used to be possible with that warp tool and was much much better 🙂

Do you convert the text to outlines?

No It used to be fully editable. It still works, you can still manipulate the path to change the appearance of the text, it's just that the warp brush is not affecting the path

In addition to the current version, you can also install the 2024 version, maybe that still works for what you described.

Sure! Thank you for your suggestion. I'm hoping more this little feature went wrong in an update and perhaps nobody noticed. So I want just to let the world know this is the case and perhaps one day it will be possible again
