Way to view color swatch history - colors I've recently used?

I'm looking for help on how (if possible) to view color swatches based on what I've most recently used? It's EXTREMELY annoying that each time you select a color, you need to go manually select another element that has the color, copy the hex values, select the new object you want to color and the paste the hex value in. Can't I just see a running history of colors I've recently used?

If this feature doesn't exist, it's almost 100% proof they haven't innovated since 1999. Don't you agree?
